Holbeach Hospital is a peaceful and friendly home, set in extensive attractive grounds, with spacious day rooms and clean well equipped bedrooms. Our facilities include three attractive and spacious dayrooms which act as a social hub and allow our residents and their families to come together and enjoy meals and activities. Our hospital has clean well-equipped single rooms which all have a television and wash area. There are assisted bathrooms and toilets in each corridor which are fully equipped for our residents’ needs. A mobile library visits regularly and a selection of books is always available in our dayroom.
The Dayrooms are where the majority of our activities and entertainment takes place. We provide a regular agenda of entertainment throughout the year organised by The League of Friends, and family and friends are welcome to attend with our residents. This might include singers, bands, orchestras and a range of other entertainers. These events are optional and residents are able to stay in their bedrooms if they prefer.
There are other optional extras which are available at an additional cost, including a daily newspaper delivery service, an onsite hairdresser and a Chiropodist visits every 6 weeks. We also have a visiting optician service to check our residents’ eyesight and provide spectacles if required.
We believe that food and nutrition are very important for our residents. That’s why we provide fresh home-cooked food, prepared each day by our cooks. A typical lunchtime menu could be roast pork with Yorkshire pudding or liver and bacon with seasonal vegetables and roast potatoes, followed by apple crumble and custard.
Special diets for example vegetarian or fat free can also be catered for. An assortment of drinks and snacks are available at all times and in addition to the main menu, fresh fruit, soups and salads are available.
